Fort Sheridan public schools are among the best in the state. Offering challenging academics and a mix of diversity and culture.

The Town of Fort Sheridan is located within school districts #112 (elementary) and #113 (high school), both are award winning districts well known for their excellence.

Oak Terrace, the newest in the district, offers a $10,000,000 state-of-the-art facility that serves grades K-5 with a dual language (Spanish and English) curriculum. The middle school is the highly rated Northwood Junior High School for grades 6-8 which offers the popular STEM and CMA programs.

Highland Park High School is ranked 17th in Illinois (U.S. News & World Report 2016 Rankings), and offers over 60 clubs and 30 sports teams with a diverse population of students and educators.

Wayne Thomas Elementary School is the local elementary school option for any Fort Sheridan residents that do not want to participate in the Dual Language Immersion program at Oak Terrace. Wayne Thomas is a highly rated school located nearby to Fort Sheridan in the Highlands (next to Northwood Junior High).
